We are software, not your print shop
echel.in provides a software-as-a-service platform. Each shop using Echel is an independent business. We are not a printing service, a courier, a document bureau, or a party to any transaction between a shop and a walk-in customer. When a customer pays and collects a print, that deal is entirely between that customer and that shop.
Your printer, your consumables, your licences
Every shop running Echel remains fully responsible for:
Nothing in Echel creates a partnership, franchise, agency, or employment relationship with any shop.
Print quality depends on your machine
What comes out of the printer depends on the shop’s own hardware, driver settings, paper and ink — not on echel.in. Colour, sharpness, margins and alignment may differ from the preview on the customer’s phone. Features such as 4×6 passport sheets, A3 and larger sizes, and duplex printing work only if the shop actually has a printer capable of them.
Files uploaded by customers
Customers who upload documents through a Echel portal are solely responsible for what they send — its legality, its copyright, and its appropriateness. We do not open, review, moderate, or approve customer documents, and files are deleted immediately after printing as described in our Privacy Policy.
Sending obscene, defamatory, fraudulent, infringing, or otherwise unlawful material is prohibited, and we may suspend access where misuse is reported or reasonably suspected.
Payments
Online payments are handled by Razorpay or the shop’s own UPI, and settle directly into the shop owner’s account — Echel takes 0% commission and never holds that money. We do not collect or store card numbers, CVVs, or UPI PINs. Any payment failure or settlement dispute must be taken up with the payment provider and the shop concerned. We act as merchant of record only for our own software plan fees.
Internet, uptime and updates
Echel depends on internet at both the customer’s and the shop’s end, and on third-party hosting and payment providers. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Maintenance, provider outages, power cuts, or a local network problem can interrupt printing. Where a job cannot be delivered at once it stays queued and prints when connectivity returns, and the agent updates itself so shops stay on a supported version.
Earnings examples are illustrative
Any figures shown on echel.in — such as prints per day, monthly earnings, or how quickly a plan pays for itself — are illustrations, not promises. Real income depends on the shop’s location, footfall, pricing, and effort. Echel makes no guarantee of revenue, customers, or business results.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Echel, its owner and its associates are not liable for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential — including lost business, lost profit, lost revenue, wasted paper or ink, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or business interruption arising from use of, or inability to use, echel.in or the print-relay agent.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability will not exceed what the affected shop actually paid Echel for the software in the three (3) months before the claim.
External links
echel.in may link to third-party sites and services we do not control — payment providers, download hosts, social pages. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or policies, and a link is not an endorsement.
Changes and governing law
This Disclaimer may be updated as Echel changes; the date at the top shows when it was last revised, and continued use means acceptance. It is governed by the laws of India, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of India.
If you do not agree with any part of this Disclaimer, please stop using echel.in and the Echel software.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What is Echel?
Echel is print-shop automation software for cyber cafes and print shops in India. The customer scans the shop's QR code, uploads a document from their phone, pays, and the shop's printer prints it automatically — with no WhatsApp, no pen drive and no file transfer.
How does Echel work, step by step?
In five steps: (1) the shop displays its QR code, (2) the customer scans it and opens the link in any phone browser, (3) the customer uploads a PDF or photo and picks black & white or colour, pages and copies, (4) the customer pays online or chooses pay-at-counter, (5) the shop's printer prints the job automatically.
Does the customer need to install an app?
No. The customer needs only a phone camera and a browser. There is nothing to download, no sign-up and no account.
Which printers are supported?
Any printer that is already installed on the shop's Windows PC — HP, Canon, Epson, Brother and others, inkjet or laser. A Wi-Fi printer is not required, because printing is done by the shop's PC, not by the phone.
Do I need a Wi-Fi printer or a special machine?
No. If your existing printer prints from your Windows PC today, it will work with Echel. You only install a small print agent on that PC.
How much does Echel cost?
Start with the free demo. Current plan prices, included features and billing cycles are shown on the Pricing section. Echel does not charge a commission on individual prints.
Who receives the customer's payment?
The shop owner receives it directly. Online payments go straight into the shop's own Razorpay or Cashfree account — Echel does not hold or route the money and takes no cut per print.
Can customers still pay cash at the counter?
Yes. Each shop can allow online payment, pay-at-counter cash, or both. The shop decides.
Why is this better than receiving files on WhatsApp?
Because your personal number stays private, files do not get lost in chat, and printing does not need manual downloading. On WhatsApp you must find the file, open it and print it yourself; here the paid job prints automatically.
How long does setup take?
About two minutes to register the shop, plus a one-time install of the Windows print agent. After that the shop only needs to display its QR code.
Is it safe? What happens to the customer's file?
Files are stored temporarily only to complete the print job and are removed afterwards. Each shop sees only its own jobs. The full retention details are on the Privacy Policy page.
What happens if the internet goes off during a job?
Nothing is lost. Jobs stay safely in the queue, and when the connection returns the print agent picks them up and prints them automatically.
Can it print passport-size photos and resumes?
Yes. Echel includes a 4×6 passport-photo layout tool and a resume maker, along with the normal document printing.
Who is Echel for?
Cyber cafes, internet cafes, stationery and photocopy shops, DTP centres and print shops in India — any small shop that prints documents for walk-in customers.
Is Echel available across India?
Yes. It works anywhere in India with a Windows PC, a printer and an internet connection. It is built and operated from India.
